OS Player is a free live RTMP stream video player.
OS Player is designed for playing back Flash video streams created by OS Broadcaster application (it does not support native video streams). OS Broadcaster application video encoding uses non native video (Sorenson Spark - VP6) and audio (Nelly Moser and SPEEX) codecs. Therefore streams created by OS Broadcaster cannot be played back by native mobile or HTML5 video players.
OS Player also plays back RTMP streams encoded with native codecs (H.264, AAC).
Supported protocols: RTMP, RTMPT, RTMPE, RTMPS
OS Player supports live RTMP streaming from Adobe Flash Media Server, Wowza, RED5, Evostream, NGIX-RTMP module, etc.
OS Player is an ideal solution for playing back non native video streams on mobile devices. OS Player can be also launched by HTML link containing path to video stream as a link parameter. Such link can be placed into a mobile webpage. By clicking such link OS Player is launched with desired video. Such videos cannot be played back by native HTML5 players.
Link example:
<a href="osplayer://rtmp=rtmp://yourmediaserver.com/app/stream">open live stream</a>
You can also add a script which will check whether OS Player is installed. If the player is not installed user is prompted to install from Google Play.
