Oxalate Lookup puts multiple information sources at your fingertips to help you make an informed decision about which foods are safe to eat on a low oxalate diet.
Use this app if you or a loved one is having kidney stones or other kidney problems.
Keeping a low oxalate diet can prevent kidney stones. According to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, those on a low oxalate diet should limit oxalate intake to 40-50mg per day.
Unfortunately, it's hard to find out how much oxalate is in a given food. Often the only way to find out is to scan a PDF, Word document, or website, which is time-consuming and may not provide an answer.
Another problem is the variety of information sources. Many medical groups have studied oxalates, but they don't list the same foods, present them in the same way, or show the latest research.
So when you're cooking or shopping for a low oxalate diet, open Oxalate Lookup to quickly find out which foods are safe to eat.
** Please pay attention to serving sizes! While the oxalate level indicators ("Very low" to "Very high") are often accurate, it is important to compare oxalate content with serving sizes when deciding whether a food is safe to eat.
