About PDESolver Android App

PDESolver (PartitionDifferentialEquationsSolver) - a free program for solving the boundary value problems for differential equations in partial derivatives (equations of mathematical physics). It will be useful during fast engineering calculations, as well as for students of physical and mathematical disciplines.

Key features:

1. Input random source functions with the possibility of further analysis and tabulation. Delete the entered text to understand that it is to enter in the appropriate field. Long press on the text box displays a popup menu with a full list of possible operations and functions.

2. Export raw data in .txt files on the SD-card. It is recommended for the first start of the program to export all of the default input source data and become familiar with the location and structure of the resulting files.

3. Import the initial data from the .txt files on the SD-card. Import files must contain numeric arrays strictly defined dimension (number of rows and columns in these files are interrelated) (see para. 2).

4. Preservation of solutions to a file on SD-card.

5. Graphical display of results with the possibility of an arbitrary rounding (up to 16 decimal places). Clicking on the graph shows the response at a particular point. Supported by a small scale charts.

6. Animation of considered non-stationary processes. 3D-visualization of the results.

7. Ability to cancel lengthy operations. This is especially significant when specifying too large number of steps for the variable x.

Currently available approximately 50 models, including:

1. General linear and nonlinear boundary value problems for the wave equation
2. General linear and nonlinear boundary value problems for the heat equation
3. The inverse problem of thermal diagnostics
4. The Dirichlet problem for the Poisson equation on a rectangle and on the sector

We are constantly working to eliminate bugs, improve the accuracy of calculations, an overall increase in productivity.

Notes:

1. To save numerical solutions requires a SD-card. Also SD-card is needed to visualize the results of a large number of steps to x.
2. In some problems in order to avoid loss of stability it is necessary to follow the correct sign of the coefficients of the input, not to get physically undetermined, ill-posed problem.
3. The tasks in the sector, in the ring and in the circle: import data files must contain function values obtained in the tabulation of the polar coordinate system.
4. An inverse problem of thermal diagnostics: the function f(t) must strive to zero as t tends to infinity. The theoretical error of the solution is usually too high. Model examples can be constructed using the direct problem for the heat equation. It is desirable to carry out the export of model functions.
