Spectrum Pedroid is a product under the spectrum series. It is a collection of applications and soft wares designed for use in Paediatrics clinical practices.

Pedroid has so many features and is easy to use and user friendly.
FEATURES OF THE PEDROID CLINIC APP

The Pedroid clinic app is designed to provide the following functions.
1. Computes the weight for age of the child between 1 to 12 years of age.
2. Uses computed data results to generate information which is used in clinical assessment of the child.
3. Outlines the result in a concise readable format for both the students and the doctors to understand.
4. Calculates the appropriate drug dose for age of the child for the selected common drugs using the computed weight for age result.
5. Provides information for the immunization status of the child using the child’s age as the parameter.

Information supplied
Information provided to Pedroid are
1. Child’s age (in Months and in Years)
2. Child’s Actual weight
3. Child’s clinical assessment ( +/-Edema)
4. Drug dose

Information generated by Pedroid
1. Estimated weight for age in Kilogram.
2. Percentage weight of expected weight.
3. Nutritional status of the child
4. Drug dose for age of the child
5. Expected Immunization schedule and status for and of the child respectively.

PEDROID APPLICATION GUIDE/MANUAL

COMPUTING THE EXPECTED WEIGHT

1. Select the AGE figure of the child and select the age parameter (MONTHS / YEARS).
2. Click on the COMPUTE DATA button.
3. The first information displayed will be the expected weight for age.


GENERATING THE NUTRITIONAL STATUS

1. While the dashboard is still active, do not click on fresh case.
2. Check the %WEIGHT BOX.
3. Type the ACTUAL WEIGHT of the child by scale.
4. Select EDEMA / NO EDEMA option.
5. Click on the COMPUTE WEIGHT PERCENTAGE button.
6. This will display the percentage weight of the child with respect to the expected weight for age and also the nutritional status of the child.


GENERATING THE IMMUNIZATION SCHEDULE FOR THE CHILD AGE.

1. While dashboard is still active do not click refresh
2. Click on MORE BUTTON
3. This will display the immunization schedule appropriate for the child’s age which include.
a. The immunization the child is supposed to have received for his/her age and
b. Immunization remaining for age.


CALCULATING DRUG DOSE FOR USING ESTMATED AND ACTUAL WEIGHT

1. While dashboard is still active do no refresh page
2. Check the DRUG DOSAGE FOR AGE Box
3. You will be prompted to type in the dose
4. And select the unit of dosage (mg/kg/dose, ml/kg/day etc)
5. Click the COMPUTE DOSE for Age button.

NOTE:
The button behavior and commands varies as you keep working on the dashboard
This behavioral changes are such that it guides you to use it based on what you want to achieve.
Always make sure it read the button command to be sure it displays what you actually want to execute.
