Battery Friendly

Phonetrax does not use the phones GPS (known to drain batteries very quickly). Instead it uses Wifi and mobile tower data to determine an approximate location. This works indoors (unlike GPS) and works best in built up urban areas with good technology infrastructure. Whilst it also works in rural/remote areas - the level of accuracy will not be as good.

How to Track

How often the phone communicates its location can be set within the App, this could be every five minutes or every two hours - it’s up to you. This information is then made available by entering the device PXID (shown in the App, make a note of it) into the Phonetrax website where you can view up to seven days of rolling step by step location maps and addresses.

No Sign Up

There is no complicated sign up process, just a straightforward login page from where you can monitor as many devices as you need to.

Not for

The App requires the use of the phones location and data or WiFi services so should only be used on phones that routinely have these services switched on. If you are someone who constantly finds themselves switching these services off and on to save on data charges or preserve battery then maybe this App is not for you.

Flexible

Tracking functionality can be disabled at any time by the phone holder which is useful if the device needs only be tracked between certain times.

Getting Started

Download and try the App for free. Tracking is free for three days, after this trial period you have the option to access the web portal for a very small charge on a pay as you go basis. You might want to check the Phonetrax website is accessible (eg. not blocked by filtering software) on the PC/device you intend to use for tracking too.

The Phonetrax is a very small file size and when left running uses less than 1% of your battery. There are no adverts in the App.

We strongly recommend your write down your PXID upon installation on a device. You'll need this number to track the phone when you don't have the physical device.

Please note that Phonetrax is not intended as a life saving aid, nor is it intended to track across multiple time zones.
