The Polish History Museum, established in 2006, dedicates its collections to inspire a broader understanding of Polish history. Our mission is to create opportunities for learning, stimulate imagination, and present challenging ideas about our country’s past.
The Museum focuses on the most significant themes in the history of Poland – state and nation – with special emphasis on the idea of freedom.
In the “Everyday life in a shifted Poland” app, the life of millions of Polish migrants who had to find a new place to live after WWII is pictured.
“Polish Road to Freedom” shows the last decade of the Polish road from a Communist-led country to a democratic Third Republic of Poland, mainly in photos of a great photographer, Erazm Ciołek.
“The Solidarity and the Fall of the Iron Curtain” is a story about a Polish political and social roller-coaster ride which led to the end of Communism in the East-Central Europe.
