About Pool Me Up Android App
"Pool Me Up" is a project initiated by university-level youth from UTOPIA Organization in part of "Ripples of Happiness" program by INJAZ Lebanon.
"Pool Me Up" project aims at reducing the negative effects of the over-usage of cars on Lebanese highways, such as sound and air pollution, traffic jam, parking spaces, and high rates of road accidents. The project entitles raising awareness of the issue by creating a mobile application for carpool commuting whereby smartphone users can share information on their car journeys (meeting point, destination, and timing). Carpooling is seen as a more environmentally friendly and sustainable way to travel, especially when people share their journeys in a fun ambiance.
