I have received quite a bit of positive feedback and suggestions as to how to improve this app. I am starting to work on an update that will incorporate much of that feedback. No time frame know as of this time, but will provide the updated app when it is ready....

The Grocery List App provides the basic needs of a grocery shopping list. You add items to your grocery list. As you shop, the items are placed into a shopping cart and your cost and quantity is added to the running total. When you check out and leave the store, the items are placed into your car and the running total is reset.

When you buy an item, you have two options within the App as to how this works. You may simply tap Buy and the items is moved from your list to the shopping cart. You may optionally enter a Cost and Quantity associated with the item. If you opt to take the extra couple of seconds to enter the Cost and Quantity, the App will maintain a running total of the items in your shopping cart.

Once you check out you can Move Bought Items To Car. This action changes the icon beside the items from the shopping cart to the car. It also resets the running total. This is to easily accommodate using one shopping list at multiple stores while keeping the running total meaningful.

To make the running total a little more accurate, the Grocery List App allows the setting of a single sales tax value (in a percent). Our state and local governments have different sales tax rates for different types of items. We simply took a few old grocery receipts and manually averaged the sales tax amount against the totals and came up with a workable percent to enter as the sales tax percent. It has proved to be amazingly accurate.
