Built for latest version of Android.
QL Japanese Kana helps you learn to read the Japanese phonetic alphabets of Hiragana and Katakana. Keep playing to learn, earn game coins and unlock new chapters.
The three main modes for each chapter are (in logical order):
- Study / Statistics
- Practise
- Reverse Practise.
- Test
In Study, you review the characters of each chapter, practise your reading by checking out the examples and track your progress by looking at the statitistics.
In Practise, you practise what you learned by choosing the correct answer for the character on display.
The recommended setting for practise rounds is to use adaptive difficulty. After a few rounds, characters you seem to know well will start getting more answer options, increasing the challenge. If you happen to give a few incorrect answers, the difficulty for those characters will go down. That way each character gets a suitable level of difficulty to maximize the learning experience.
In Reverse Practise, you are provided with a sound (for instance "ka") and a number of hiragana/katakana characters to choose from.
In Test, you get to choose the correct answer from 6 different options. At the end of the test round you get a grade, and if you get an A you unlock the next chapter.
That way you get the chance to study and practise one chapter at a time, and verify that you have learned it before moving on.
Completing a practise or test round earns you coins to help keep you motivated. Faster answers, higher difficulty settings and more correct answers will score you better rewards.
The coins earned can be used to purchase new button styles for the main menu and the practise mode screen, as well as to purchase new pens and checkmarks to use when taking a test.
