tl;dr Sort shapes into matching groups; get dots; more dots means you die faster; sort faster.
Quick Sort is a simple and casual game about quickly sorting a mess of colorful shapes into matching groups, before you die from evil shadow walls. You slowly loose life as you play and the only way to stay alive is to sort. The goal is to complete matching groups of shapes as fast as you can, while also sorting enough shapes at once to keep you alive. The more shapes you sort the more you are healed. To sort simply drag shapes around with one or more fingers and move the shapes into groups or buddles of the same color and shape. At the bottom of the screen there are small dots that progressively appear as you sort more shapes and the difficulty increases. It gets harder and harder to get more dots. Your best game (high score) is saved and displayed as the smaller dots. Difficulty increases every time you complete a group it goes up the same regardless of how big your group size is.
Currently one of the better strategies I've come up with is to take advantage of multi touch and use as many fingers as you can manage to sort groups very fast. You can even ask a friend for help! I also found that trying to sort the larger groups first was a good way to avoid any one group getting too big.
Quick Sort, as the name implies, was designed to be the perfect arcade game to pick up and play for a quick session or hours. It is meant to be casual, addictive, and replayable. The minimal interface is designed from the ground up to minimize the time it takes to actually get into a game. There is no main menu because the game just doesn't need it. There is no tutorial because I want to make Quick Sort as simple and intuitive as possible just like any other arcade game and if I just gave a tutorial that explained everything it would take the joy of learning for them selves away from the player. Just like my other casual game Transpose, Quick Sort has no words in it making it possible for anyone regardless of language or literacy to play the game. I hope you enjoy my little addicting arcade game!
Thank you for your time and support,
