Ready Smyrna’s PrepareAthon! is a whole community disaster preparedness campaign focused on encouraging action; all to better prepare our community in the event of disaster.

Smyrna launchedReady Smyrna’s PrepareAthon!in September 2013 and takes disaster awareness information popularized through the Ready campaign, and finds ways to encourage our business’, civic organizations, youth groups, faith based organizations, and individual citizens and families to put some type of preparedness information into action. As an example, we’ve conducted an outreach campaign to our business’ to create an evacuation and shelter in place plan, then encouraging them to exercise their plan.

This App is designed to provide emergency alerts and notifications for the City of Smyrna. It also includes preparedness information and activities, a photo gallery, blogs, and personal preparedness stories.

If disaster strikes, public safety organizations are typically overwhelmed which could mean a significantly delayed response to you or your family. Our mission is to increase the resiliency of our community by encouraging everyone to practice disaster preparedness. Remember that; “Practice Makes Perfect”.
