A magnetic sensor is built into your device, Real metal detecter use it to measure the electromagnetic fields value (EMF), in other words it measures interferences in electrowaves caused by metal and other magnetic stuff.

The magnetic field level (EMF) in nature is about 49μT(micro tesla) or 490mG(milli gauss); 1μT = 10mG. if you get a higher measurement, that means there is of metal rocks in the area.

You can get all the metal which make magnetic field, like iron, steel, silver, gold, platinum, relics and other magnetic stuff
• What if the application doesn’t work?
Then, the problem is that your device doesn’t have a magnetic sensor. Or try to initialize the sensors by pointing your phone up and rotate it in a figure 8 pattern. Remove magnetic covers from your device for accurate readings. Magnetic covers will influence the magnetic sensor in your Android device. If your device's case contains metal elements remove the case before using the app.
