About Red Bull Takeover Android App

Red Bull Takeover returns to Hong Kong this year, where you can run around Hong Kong to various checkpoints to collect points and explore the city. As a virtual explorace, the event is split into two teams (Red vs Blue) and so participants will need to work together to help their team score the most points. Download the Red Bull Takeover app now to participate in the event, search for checkpoints and track your live score.

With over 300 checkpoints located across the city, participants will have 3 hours to reach as many checkpoints as they can, completing various challenges and collecting points for themselves and their team. You will be awarded points based on the distance you run as well as the checkpoints visited. Whilst most checkpoints will require you to just pass by, some checkpoints will have additional features and award bonus points such as Challenge, Quiz, Boost, and Energy Stations. Keep an eye out also for Team Captain Challenge checkpoints which will be worth even more points!
ABOUT RED BULL TAKEOVER
Red Bull Takeover is a virtual explorace from Red Bull. Using the Red Bull Takeover App participants will join either the Red or Blue team and run to collect points for their team at various checkpoints around the city. The team with the highest average score once the timer has stopped wins. Track your score and ranking using the live leaderboard in the app!


HOW IT WORKS:
Purchase a ticket for the event on the Red Bull Takeover event website and you’ll receive an access code to the Red Bull Takeover app. On 8 October 2022 at 3pm, hit Start in the app to kick off your run and collect as many points as you can within 3 hours. Everyone starts and finishes at the same time, but where you start, and which route you take is completely up to you!

All participants will also receive an event tee, crossbody running bag, Red Bull and more!


CHOOSE YOUR TEAM (RED VS BLUE)
When joining the event, you will also need to pick your side, red or blue. Will you pick the red team led by Alex Lam or the blue team with Cecilia Yeung as team captain? All the points you accumulate will go towards the team score and the team with the highest average score at the end of the event wins!

PLAN YOU ROUTE
Use the map in the app to find and reach checkpoints during the event. The event map will be released a few days before the event, allowing you time to plan your route to get as many points as possible. Some checkpoints are worth more than others, therefore careful planning and strategy will help those looking to top the leaderboard!

CHECKPOINT TYPES
Points will be awarded for distance run and checkpoints visited. Points for checkpoints are awarded as follows:
• Standard Checkpoints: Run through the location to collect the points.
• Challenge Checkpoints: You will be given a challenge or exercise to complete.
• Quiz Checkpoints: Use your surroundings to answer the multiple-choice quiz question.
• Boost Checkpoints: These will give you double points for a limited time period
• Hidden Checkpoints: Find these checkpoints to unlock bonus checkpoints nearby worth more points!
• Energy Stations: Collect points and a can of Red Bull!
• Team Captain Checkpoints: Complete the Team Captain challenge for lots of points!


LIVE LEADERBOARD
Keep track of your score and individual rankings with the live leaderboard during the event. A live team score will also show which team is currently in the lead. Push yourself to top the leaderboard and help your team win!
