Reversi, Othello is a classic board game for 2 players. Black and white, Reversi, Othello is a very dynamic board game; the board position can change dramatically with each move. Reversi is also know as Othello.

In Reversi, Othello At each turn a player must place a piece with their color face up on one of the empty squares of the board, adjacent to an opponent's piece such that one or more straight lines (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) are formed from the newly placed piece, through one or more of the opponent's pieces and up to other pieces of their own color already on the board. All the intervening pieces of the opponent's color are flipped to the color of the newly laid piece.

In Reversi, Othello After placing a piece, dark turns over (flips, captures) all light pieces lying on a straight line between the new piece and any anchoring dark pieces. All reversed pieces now show the dark side, and dark can use them in later moves—unless light has reversed them back in the meantime. In other words, a valid move is one where at least one piece is reversed.

In Reversi, Othello Players take alternate turns. If one player can not make a valid move, play passes back to the other player. When neither player can move, the game ends. This means the game may end before the grid is completely filled. This possibility may occur because one player has no pieces remaining on the board in that player's color.
