La Estrategia de Especialización Inteligente o RIS3 es un nuevo concepto de política de innovación de la Comisión Europea destinado a promover el uso eficiente y eficaz de las inversiones públicas en I+D+i. Su objetivo es fomentar la innovación regional, con el fin de lograr un crecimiento económico y prosperidad, al permitir que las regiones se concentren en sus puntos fuertes. The Smart Specialisation Strategy or RIS3 is a new concept of innovation policy of the European Commission to promote the efficient and effective use of public investment in R + D + i. It aims to promote regional innovation, in order to achieve economic growth and prosperity, allowing regions to focus on their strengths. Currently the regions of Galicia and northern Portugal already have defined the RIS3 for their regions and are working on the definition of a joint RIS3, which will be one of the first RIS3 Transboundary to be defined in Europe.
