Map engine update
Accessibility map for wheelchair users with the possibility for the community to contribute to the map.
We show accessibility information on more than half a million places worldwide, as well as accessible routes to these places in some cities. The number of places and the areas covered are constantly growing, as the community using the application can effortlessly contribute to the map.
In surveymode, the application automatically records and evaluates the user's tracks in terms of accessibility. We use artificial intelligence to process the data collected by the sensors (GPS, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass) of the phone to display surface quality of sidewalks, slopes, curbs, bumps, etc on the map.
On surveyed areas you can plan accessible routes from A to B considering your own abilities, according to your personal accessibility settings.
You can also enter obstacles manually with photos and edit the accessibility information of POI's.
By Installing Route4U you will always have accessibility information on places and routes in your pocket, furthermore, you will help your fellow wheelchair users to find their comfortable and safe ways. So don't hesitate: share your freedom!
The accessibility map is freely available for anyone both through the app and on our webpage: http://route4u.org/maps.
All data collected by the app is only shared with any 3rd party anonymously.
Voice assisted navigation is coming soon! :-)
