About SafeDriver Android App
SafeMotos is connecting customers to safer motorcycle taxis across East Africa, starting in Rwanda. Everyday 612 Africans die from road deaths. That’s 16% of the global total with 2% of the cars.
Addressing these deaths means addressing motorcycle taxis, the cause of 80% of traffic accidents in Rwanda. We are gathering accelerometer, GPS and gyroscope data from moto taxi drivers equipped with smartphones, then using these telematics to make a model of drivers' habits.
Our Uber influenced smartphone app then empowers customers to pay a premium to be picked up by a safer moto taxi driver.
Customers able to choose safer drivers will save lives.
