Sailink is a collaborative project to map the cell phone data coverage at sea.
If you want to participate it’s very easy, you just have to download the App, take samples when sailing and send them to us, so we can assemble the coverage map.
You can check the coverage map in https://sailink.azurewebsites.net/ or directly inside the App.
When you push the red button (rec) the App starts taking samples, then you push it again (stop) and it stops taking samples. You can do it as many times as you wish.
In order to send us the samples you have to push the button on the right (paper airplane).
The app only takes samples when:
1. There is an active GPS signal: we have to point the samples on the map.
2. You are about altitude 0: remember that we are interested in the coverage at sea.
3. You are not connected to a wi-fi: we want to figure out the coverage of phone data signal.
