Santhwana Kendram is a caring mission, by Sunni Yuvajana Sangaham (SYS) Thamarassery Zone Committee, for the suffering people with multiple illnesses around us. It is the collective effort of some humanitarian hands, joined regionally, to materialize the mass initiative of SYS State Committee to institute such centres in 6000 units of the organization all over Kerala.

Focusing on patients with advanced life threatening or debilitating illness, Santhwanakendram offers more than just tender love and sympathy to the ailing poor, but seeks to improve the quality of their life, gifting them with life supporting steps and standing by them in the form of men and material.

Soon after inaugurating the centre, the members took the practical side of this mission in their shoulders by offering volunteer services at the Taluk Government Hospital, Thamarassery. Their healthcare services include;

1. Attending the diseased,

2. Distributing free medicines and medical apparatus,

3. Expert medical advices,

4. Referring to and guiding the public to hospitals and higher

healthcare agencies,

5. Ambulance services,

6. Making avail of financial aids for medical emergencies to the

7. Extending a helping hand of charity...etc.

The facilitation of Santhwanakendram in physical and psychosocial levels, to the patients and the affected family members, to cope with the illness and even bereavement, is aptly backed by spiritual and holistic support.

This approach is exclusive to Santhwanakendram, from other palliative cares, and adds a lot in minimizing the degree of the suffering.
