-Initial release of medical information and adverse event reporting application.
This application allows the user to enter in any drug and side-effect, returning whether the combination of the two has been reported to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Data for these reports is gleaned from the OpenFDA Application Program Interface (API) and automatically updated on a quarterly basis. All adverse effect terms are sourced from the Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA), which provides a uniform standard for adverse effect language.
User's are also able to create a drug and adverse event profile that can be reported to our laboratory for further analysis.
OpenFDA provides APIs and raw download access to a number of high-value, high priority and scalable structured datasets, including adverse events, drug product labeling, and recall enforcement reports.
MedDRA is a rich and highly specific standardised medical terminology to facilitate sharing of regulatory information internationally for medical products used by humans.
To begin, simply click on the side-effect search link and enter a drug. Options are avaialble to type in a side-effect or use our interactive body diagram to receive data on adverse events.
