Signac – Painting for the visually impaired
The application was devised by volunteer IT students of the Bucharest Polytechnic to aid people with visual impairments enjoy art more fully.
Explore Paul Signac’s Gate (Saint-Tropez) by listening to information about the painting and Signac’s relation to Neo-Impressionism. Glide your fingers horizontally over the screen to discover the various picture planes and imagine how Debussy’s contemporary music could influence an onlooker’s state of mind.

• General information about the painting and its author.
• Three touch-sensitive areas broadly delineate the main picture planes (foreground, middle-ground, and background). To access information about the picture planes and relate the painting to contemporary French music suggestive of a summer day by the sea, on the Cote d’Azure, glide your fingers horizontally on the screen without interruption.
