About SmartHear 2.0 Android App

SmartHear was created to be an affordable, cost-effective, and accessible system that assists people with hearing loss. Designed for classrooms and lecture halls, SmartHear allows the hearing impaired to listen clearly, regardless of distance and external noise. Through its design and sophistication, SmartHear has the following features:

· Anti-stigma: Overcoming the stigma associated with hearing aids
· Accessibility: Requiring only your smartphone, Bluetooth handset, and our mobile application
· Customization: Easy customization to fit specific hearing disabilities
· Noise reduction: Incorporating noise reduction algorithms to remove background noise
· Recordings: Supporting audio recording and playback
· Voice to text: Supporting sentence-by-sentence speech-to-text conversion, shown right on your smartphone
· Reversible transmitter/receiver pairing: Supporting flexible configuration where either the smartphone or the Bluetooth device may be configured as the transmitter while the other as the receiver

In this update of SmartHear, we have completely changed the user interface. With its new sleek design, SmartHear is now even easier to use. Having three main branches of functionality, SmartHear was created for users. With one simple voice transmission function, SmartHear now has toggles for audio recording as well as noise reduction. The voice transmission function allows users to easily switch from transmitting audio through their smartphones to receiving audio through their smartphones. The recordings function allows users to listen to previous audio transmissions, which is a perfect resource for lectures. The voice-to-text function allows users to translate speech into text on their smartphone, in case users want visual notes instead of auditory ones.
