About Southend Museums: art trail Android App
The Southend Museums app brings together some key paintings and drawings of Southend and South Essex for you to explore in different ways.
In Trails you can follow tours of art arranged by different themes. Each trail includes stops where you can look at paintings and drawings of real buildings and places along the way.
The Map presents all the artworks on a map so you can zoom in and out and track down the real places that inspired artists to create their work.
In the Art section the filter lets you group items by date or by theme. Use the sliding toggle to compare the artwork with the modern view.
Make a collection of your own favourite artwork by saving a copy into the My Art section – just click on the heart icon next to any image.
The app coincides with the reopening of the Beecroft Art Gallery, where you can see the works in person. It was supported by Arts Council England.
