The SPICT-App™ is a guide to identifying people with one or more advanced conditions, deteriorating health and a risk of dying for assessment and care planning.
The SPICT-App™ helps clinicians decide if a patient is at risk. It does not give a ‘prognosis’ or indicate that the person will die within a specific time frame.
If we identify people in a timely way, we can review their health care and wider needs and those of their family carers.
We can find out about ‘what matters’ to them, introduce earlier supportive and palliative care, and begin planning future treatment and care with them.
Using SPICT-App™ may also help clinicians, patients and families make decisions about emergency treatment and care options for when these people develop an acute illness with limited reversibility.
This version of SPICT Android App comes with one universal variant which will work on all the Android devices.
