Research has shown that sitting down for prolonged periods of time compromises metabolic health.
Stand Up is a quick and easy way to solve the problem by allowing you to set reminders for standing up. This is especially useful for situations where you plan on sitting down for prolonged periods of time and don't have the option, or don't wish to stand up all the time.
Simply customize the time period for sitting down and standing up and start a session. After that, Stand Up will periodically remind you when to stand up and when you can sit back down according to your own personal settings. If the app is kept on the foreground, it provides a simple progress indicator of how long you've been standing or sitting down.
However, Stand Up can also run in the background. Simply hit home and continue doing other things. And in case you want to be more discrete, the customizable vibrate settings gives you the option to set personalized vibrate patterns for either reminder with the preview of the pattern when setting vibrate speed!
Features
* Customizable alarm tone for standing/sitting reminder
* Customizable vibrate pattern for standing/sitting reminder
* Runs in the background
* Notification for reminders
FAQ
The app crashed on me, now what?
* If the app crashes on you, a dialog should appear asking whether you want to force close or report. Please make sure you report so that I can see more precisely when the app crashed and help fix the problem.
* If the app crashes when it's in the background you won't have any way of knowing until you open the app. In such a scenario, it will most likely reset the timer back to the default of sitting down. If this happens, make sure you run it once with it on the foreground, and report if it does crash like described above.
What happens if I want to use a custom alarm, one not already provided by Android?
* If you happen to pick a custom alarm, for the sound reminders, please make sure the format is acceptable for Android by referring to the chart here:
http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html#core
* If you really want to use the custom alarm, you can always try to convert it to one of the acceptable formats.
* If for some reason the alarm you pick is not supported by Android, the app will give you a warning dialog after choosing said alarm.
Why aren't the reminders firing?
* The volume for the sound alarms is based on your device's Media volume. Make sure it's loud enough for you to hear, otherwise you will miss the reminders!
* It's either sound or vibration, NOT both. If you select sound on, you will not receive vibration reminders.
* Please make sure you don't have any task killer apps which can destroy the app.
(For example, ZenFone2 devices have the "clean up in suspend" option in the Auto Start Manager app, which can kill the app some time after device is turned off.)
* If you have a lot of apps running in the background, this can make the app vulnerable when running in the background. The OS can decide to destroy the background service of the app if system memory gets low.
