About Storm Navigator Android App
Captain Kearney’s Original Storm Navigator was a physical instrument for the Northern Hemisphere.
This App is a revised and improved version of the original Storm Navigator for both North and South Hemisphere. It is designed to improve your knowledge, safety and navigation in and near a storm and so it may be used as a survival tool.
The App needs NO INTERNET CONNECTION, making you COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT mid Ocean, on a vessel, or mid desert in a car. It’s use is now simplified so all you do is follow the instructions. There is no longer anything you have to work out.
The STORM NAVIGATOR uses well-known principles which were understood by square-rig experienced ship's Masters and were part of his personal skills and Maritime Lore - as they are even today. They were part of the “Extra Masters” Exam of 1894.
The STORM NAVIGATOR App requires the input of THREE variables -WIND DIRECTION, CHANGE OF DIRECTION and your BAROMETER READING.
This App is a NAVIGATIONAL AID to seamen when TROPICAL or CYCLONIC storms prevail, and its marine application can also be extended to use for FRONTAL DEPRESSIONS.
Its use is to determine the 'BEST' possible course to sail, or motor, to either avoid the STORM CENTRE or to be prepared for an VIOLENT WIND SHIFT which may put you into a dangerous position or situation.
