Strip Jack is a simple children’s card game played by up to four players.
This is a Multiplayer app, so you are playing against Human opponents. Enjoy playing against your family!
This game is also known as Strip Jack Naked, Beggar My Neighbour in some circles, or even Beat Your Neighbour Out Of Doors, and is similar to the card games War and Egyptian Ratscrew.
This uses Google Play Services for the Multiplayer component, so sign in using your Google account if you need to.
You can choose to start a new match, which allows you to choose how many people you want to invite to the game and who they are, from your list of Google+ friends, or via Gmail addresses.
Alternatively, you can choose to play against random people using the Quick Match option, which may place you in an already created match.
You can check your success against your friends or the world by displaying the Leader boards.
And there are Achievements to be unlocked!
How to play...
The cards are dealt to each player, but are kept face down so that no player sees their cards, they are just a pile of cards in front of them.
The player to the left of the dealer turns over the top card from his pile and places it in the centre of the table.
If the card placed is NOT a court card, i.e. Jack, Queen, King or Ace, then the next player plays a card on top of it.
However, if the card is a court card, then the next player must play a collection of cards one by one onto the central card, called a forfeit. If a Jack is played, then the forfeit is one card, a Queen requires two cards, a King three cards and an Ace four cards. HOWEVER, if any one of those cards is a court card, then the forfeit stops (is deemed paid) and the play goes onto the next player, who must then pay the forfeit for that newly turned court card.
If all the forfeit cards are non-court cards (i.e. between 2 and 10 valued), then the player who turned over the court card, can now collect all the cards in the pile and place them at the bottom of his/her own pile.
When a player has no more cards, then that player is out and takes no further part in the game.
The winner is the one who is left with all the cards in his/her pile.
It requires almost no strategy to play, although in this app, there is the opportunity to employ a Shuffle, and some sort of strategic planning about when to do this is useful.
You can shuffle your own cards when you want to, if you feel that you really want a Jack to appear, but because you have kept track of where they are, you know you aren't getting one anytime soon.
You can also shuffle everyone's cards, a Global Shuffle, so if you know that you don't have many Jacks, you can call this and you may be lucky enough to pick some more. Be careful, you can only do this once per match.
Have fun!
