The Nigerian Baptist Convention is highly committed to helping Christians study the Bible and apply its teachings to life. Hence our regular publication of the series that help with Bible study and life application: Daily Encounter with God (a devotional for families with scripture verses for daily reading and life applications for all members); Seek Daily (using the same passages as Daily Encounter with God) but specifically for students, and Sunday School Lessons (which is available for various ages - children, teenagers, adults and young adults). In Daily Encounter with God and Seek Daily, there is a provision for 'Read the Bible Through (RBT)' passages which is reflected in the 'Your Daily Encounter with God Monitor' to the left of the first page of every Sunday School lesson. Take advantage of this provision and ensure you read the scripture which is able to make you wise unto salvation and keep you from slipping, falling or missing the way.

The Word of God has the power to change lives and enable individuals to become who God expects them to be. As Christians are soaked in the Word of God, they are better able to participate meaningfully and purposively in nation building. I therefore join Ezra in his decision and Paul in his admonition to Timothy, his son in the Lord, to encourage you to read the Word, meditate on it, practice it and teach it in season and out of season; exhort using God's Word 'with all long-suffering and doctrine' (Ezra 7:10 & 2 Timothy 4:2).
