Surat al Kahf consists of 110 verses, including the Makkiyyah letters. Named AlKahfi letter means Cave and Ashhabul Kahfi which means the inhabitants of the Cave. These two names are derived from the stories contained in this letter in verses 9 through 26, of some young men sleeping in caves for many years.

(A) From Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, who says: "Whoever recites Surat Al-Kahf on Friday night will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (Ka'ba)."

(B) "Whoever recites Surat Al-Kahf on Jumuah, will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next."
