About TagCom Android App

TagCom is an NFC app that is developed with social networking in mind.

TagCom allows you to write your contact information to an NFC chip, which can be scanned and acted upon by another user. There are two types of "tags" in TagCom: an instant tag and a com tag. Instant tags, such as email, phone or location tags are designed to perform their named actions immediately upon being scanned. A com tag, on the other hand, requires further input by the scanner, but can perform all the actions of the instant tags. A com tag acts much like a business card as it is designed to present an individual or organisation's contact information, but unlike a business card, a com tag can act upon this information. Consequently, it is recommended that you use TagCom with NFC tags that can hold high capacity data.

All the actions that can be performed in TagCom are neatly presented to the user in a toolbar, using the new material design theme.

A scanner of an NFC tag written with TagCom will also have the option of adding the tag's author to their device's contacts directory, which makes sharing or relaying contact information a breeze. This option is controlled by the tag writer through the app's settings.

TagCom also gives you the option of logging in to your Facebook and Twitter accounts so that you may complete edit texts fields faster and with more accuracy. If a user logs into their Twitter account they can also allow scanners of their NFC tags to follow them on Twitter. It should be noted that you do not need to sign in to one of these accounts to use TagCom.

Suggested uses for this NFC app:
Place a phone tag outside your flat so that a visitor can speak to you easily, even when you're not in.
Load up an NFC tag with location data so that visitors or students to a university campus can find their way easily with google maps.
Use a com tag to present all your contact information in one go. Will also allow users to quickly add you to their directory.

TagCom was developed with the Topaz 512 chip, which has 450 bytes of writable memory.
TagCom will also work with the NTAG216 chip, which has 879 bytes of writable memory. Please note that some NFC chips have varying levels of strength, and so depending upon the manufacture, they may not always work as expected.

You can get some great looking NFC tags from www.whiztags.com/collections/all.
