Tamil Nadu Wildlife application is developed by the Society for Conservation of Nature(SOFCON), a non-governmental organization to spread awareness about Nature Conservation. Visit us at www.sofcon.org


Application Overview:

- The app has details of all the important protected places in Tamil Nadu such as National Park, Zoological park, Tiger Reserve, Wildlife Sanctuary, Biosphere Reserve and Bird Sanctuary.

- The places have also to be categorized 'District' wise for the user.

- The details include Overview, Location, Area, Nearest Airport & Railway station, Best Season, Forest type, Flora & Fauna and Nearby places.


Why this application

As we are facing great challenge in Environmental pollution and climate change, SOFCON wants to spread awareness among the public about the various natural places in Tamil Nadu and the necessity of the public to protect these places and their own neighbourhood.


What we do:

- This initiative is one of our approaches to reach the public in Tamil Nadu and we are trying to add more details and places in our next release and future Wildlife application.

- We conduct campaigns in schools, colleges and public forums about importance of Nature Conservation.

- We conduct rally and other events on important days such as the World Environment Day, World Forestry Day, etc.


What you can do:

- Protect the precious Nature and save our Earth.

- Avoid plastic.

- Use public transport and encourage car pooling.

- Conserve electricity and water, etc..
