The Telugu Association of Malaysia (TAM) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization of people of Telugu origin residing in Malaysia. It was first established in the state of Perak (Lower Perak) on July 17, 1955 under the banner of Malaya Andhra Sanggamu.
On December 16, 1963 it was known as Malaysia Andhra Sanggamu and later from 1983 as TELUGU ASSOCIATION of MALAYSIA (TAM) and otherwise also known as Malaysia Telugu Sanggamu.
In the effort to foster cultural awareness and heritage of the community, the objectives are mainly to promote, preserve and safeguard the Telugu language, economic, social, cultural, spiritual, and educational guidance of the Telugus. There are 30 branches Nationwide and the Telugu Association of Malaysia is serving more than 300,000 Telugu population in Malaysia.
