Fixed a bug on some Huawei devices which don't support getAllCellInfo();
Unfortunately, without getAllCellInfo() this app is useless, Huawei owners, please change your phone to something which respectsthe Android standard APIs ;-)
"The 8 Layers - Field Test" is a network monitoring (netmonitor) and field testing (fieldtest) application that will show you all information about the mobile network, radio serving cell and neigbor cells around you. It supports GSM, UMTS (WCDMA) and LTE networks.
The application reports signal level, quality and frequency of the serving cell and its neighbors:
- 2G / GSM: RxLevel, RxQual, Bsic, ARFCN (and corresponding band / UL and DL frequencies)
- 3G / WCDMA: RSCP, ECNO and PSC, UARFCN (and corresponding band / UL and DL frequencies)
- 4G / LTE: RSRP, RSRQ and PCI, EARFCN (and corresponding band / UL and DL frequencies)
* The dashboard view presents all those measurements as well as GPS location details
* The logs view provides all low-level data captured by the Android API and some information about the device
* The map view shows the cell on a google map loaded from a cellfile.txt to put in the app folder
The app is frequently updated, please report any error / bug or improvement suggestion in the comments!
NOTE: this app will not work with devices that don't support the standard Android API getAllCellInfo(), like several Huawei phones (including the P9). Devices reported to be working properly include: Google Pixel (XL), Google Nexus 6(P), Samsung Galaxy J5/Note5/S7, Xiaomi Mi 4, OnePlus 3(T), Asus Zenfone 3, HTC 10, Motorola Moto G, Sony Xperia Z5, etc.
