The LIFE Programme………
“learning without boundaries”
The City & County of Swansea are working in partnership with Casllwchwr Primary School to create The LIFE programme.
Over the past year, Jeremy Stephens (Head of Performance and Strategic Projects) has worked closely with the headmaster of Casllwchwr School (Simon Pridham) to develop a Lifelong Intergenerational Furthering Education (LIFE) Programme to help improve pupils’ literacy skills further and use the powerful influence of latest technologies on their learning.
The Life Programme has emerged from the success of Casllwchwr School and the ongoing pressures to improve standards in education. The various aspects of the programme and the aims and objectives can be found in the Strategic Overview blog at the top of the page.
The two phases of the programme are:
Phase 1 - To promote “Learning Without Boundaries” and it was set out as a partnership Programme between the City and County of Swansea and all schools, involving key stakeholders for example Swansea University, Swansea Met and S4C.
Phase 2 - To focus on ‘Healthy Body Healthy Mind’ where children and older people will enjoy play activity together after having developed a pledge to work together across socially deprived and more affluent communities. This will build and compliment the work in Phase 1.
