Howard Sattler has been a member of the Australian media for 48 years.
He started his career as a cadet journalist at the Sydney Morning Herald, where he achieved graded status, before he was called up for two years’ National Service.
During his service he graduated from the Officer Training Unit Scheyville, was promoted to Lieutenant and posted to WA, as Officer in charge of Army Public Relations.
After completion of his service he was recruited to be a senior reporter with Hancock & Wright’s “Independent” Newspaper Group, where he was later appointed Managing Editor.
He has been a regular columnist in metropolitan newspapers and online news sites.
In television, he has worked at Channels 7, 9 & 10 as a reporter, commentator, chief of staff, documentary maker and bulletin editor.
He has been a regular commentator on Channel 7’s “Sunrise” and previously Channel 9’s “Today” show.
During his 32 years in radio he has been a news director, program producer and host.
He has been the recipient of five National Radio Awards, finalist on six other occasions, the winner of two New York Festival prizes and two international Crime Stoppers’ Awards.
