Tracking Friend location using Mobile – provides a user friendly way of finding
the location of a friend. It is an Android based application and is the sole developing
platform. This can be achieved through Global Positioning System (GPS) to find a
friend’s location and display it through a map i.e. Google Maps.
The aim of this APP is to help the users to find out friends location without calling
an individual but rather send a SMS for authentication and receiving and sending the
location parameters i.e. longitude and latitude. Once we get the location parameters, we
can access the exact location in the Google Maps and hence locate an individual’s
location. For the non-android users along with the longitude and latitude the name of the
street, city, state and the pin code is sent in order to help them understand one’s location.
We even have an option to call from the app to other users by using cellular network. In
order to obtain the exact location from time to time, we have an option to send the
message in a regular interval of time according to our convenience. Once we start
tracking someone we can add that person in the favorite list in order to access one’s
location.
