Traffic congestion is a major concern for the Maltese Islands, with many arterial roads being frequently congested, whether in the morning, afternoon or evening. This application helps drivers in planning their journey by providing real-time information on traffic congestion on the Maltese roads.

The system works by crowd-sourcing traffic data from the users running the application. The GPS data is collected from the users, uploaded into our servers, overall street average calculated and then distributed back to all users
We developed this application to help easing the congestion problems, and indirectly lowering air pollution, by:
- Providing traffic information at individual road level
- Help the commuter in deciding which route to take
- Aiding in predicting travel times
Features include:
- Basemap with Red to Green gradient for traffic congestion at street segments level
- Location of current and future roadworks with expected start and end date
- Traffic lights, Speed cameras and Schools
- Level of air pollution based on the different gases, compared to limit and alert level
- Low bandwidth implementation to save on data
- Offline Maps
- Efficient GPS readings to reduce battery use
Privacy: No personal information is sent to our servers which can be used to identify the user. Data is grouped together and average speeds sent back to users
