'Chiyoda no Ooku', in other words 'Chiyoda's inner palace', means the hidden world of shogun's princess and other women in Edo castle.
This is the seiries of colored woodcuts with continuous three pictures collapsible.
This beautiful series of pictures are about playings and events and it was published in 1894-1896 at Gusokuya, Nihonbashi Tokyo.
In Chiyoda's inner palace, there were more than 1000 working women, and the palace was full of secrets because people never talked about the palace because of the severe rules. However, Meiji era let people talk about the secrets, and people love to read and see these kind of gossips.
