“United Goa Marathon” cum various short distance races which will be held under the aegis of the Catholic Association of Goa in collaboration with All India Catholic Union, a social service organization will start from Campal Ground & finish at Campal Ground will be held on 14th Nov. 2015 (Saturday). The Road Race is aimed at igniting the spark of Unity, Brotherhood and Good Health, saying No to Drugs, & Yes to Peace, Progress, Development, Green India, Clean India amongst the people of Goa. Hundreds of leading Athletes of India and specially from Goa will be participating in the event. Various races have been organized for different age groups, to give everyone a chance to participate. An event of this sort must involve the young, beginning at the School level. Hence Schools, Colleges, Clubs and Institutions are invited to participate. To add verve to the function, there will also be a dance competition. The finalists will display their skill at the venue before the prize distribution. Various Religious leaders, Politicians and Celebrities have been invited to grace the occasion.
This kind of event is aimed at being held in different cities of India every year. The task will be to set up Homes for the Elders & Community Centers, for all age groups. These centers will conduct and coordinate activities of Vocational Guidance, Sports, Education, Welfare and Cultural activities. The idea behind this is to enable not just us, but our children, to be exposed to a world of Integration & to keep away from Drugs.
