About Velatronic Android App

Sailing is a sport in which the laws of physics don't leave any space to errors, if you want to be competitive.
Velatronic has been created as additional instrument, in order to help and to approach who is exploring the sailing world for the first time; if you want to control the informations about speed, sailed distance and sailing points, this is the right application to have all these informations into your smartphone!
In addition to these informations, you will be aware of gps coordinates, continuously updated.
The application requires GPS and data network services. Also magnetic field sensor will be used.
NEWS ABOUT APP! The new app has something new:
a) MORE BUTTON: now you can see weather forecasts of your location such as: speed of the wind, direction of the wind, pressure and much more!
b) The app records (if you want) your sailings. You can see every time theme in the map. Attention: Recording is disabled by default. If you want, in settings, you can enable recording, but you must have more than 100 MB free! Otherwise, the app won't be able to record.
c) Settings of the app such as aspect, darker or lighter; enabling day/night changing.
d) Map where you can see your actual sailing, with markers on it. Datas such as sailing point or cordinates or speed are shown, by pressing on marker.
e)App in Spanish, Italian, English, French. If there are some lessical mistakes, please contact me!

1) Virtual analogical Bolinometer which gives informations about the angle between the direction of the bow of the ship and the wind direction. if you are upwind, a sound alarm will be turned on (angle beteen +20° and -20°). Please note that your smartphone must be kept in the same direction of sailing of the ship during the sailing.

2) Virutal digital display where informations relative to distance (nautical miles), speed (knots), gps coordinates and sailing point(bowline, downind, close reach...) are displayed.

3) Google maps (it's necessary having turned on your data network), where you can see your position in real time and the informations listed before.

4) A virtual analogical compass, in order to fix the wind direction. If you want to fix the wind direction, you have to stay upwind with your smartphone.
The red needle tells you the wind direction. This information will be used together with sail boat direction, in order to calculate the sailing points. Whe you are sure of the wind direction, pushing fix button, a pop-up will inform you that wind direction has been memorized. Below the compass, a display shows you the name of the wind (north-wind, south-wind...) and the direction in degrees.
