Vibra Rehabilitation Hospital is the only Freestanding ACUTE Rehabilitation Hospital in the Panhandle. It is a 44 bed facility located in the Amarillo Medical Center which includes a transitional living apartment where patients can practice living in a home environment while training family members to care for them at home. We offer dialysis, IV antibiotic treatment and wound care by certified Wound care nurses.

-Spinal Cord Injuries including closed fracture of the C5-C7 level with other specified spinal cord injury*
-Fractures of the femur*
-Neurological disorders including Multiple sclerosis, motor neuron diseases, polyneuropathy, muscular dystrophy, acute exacerbation of myasthenia Gravis and Parkinson’s disease*
-Multiple Trauma*
-Congenital Deformities*
-Burns*
-Polyarthritis including Joint Replacements
-Comorbidity’s ( additional conditions) that cause significant decline in functional ability such that even in the absence of the admitting condition the patient would require Intensive rehabilitation treatment that is unique to acute inpatient rehabilitation and cannot be appropriately performed in another care setting.
Acute rehabilitation requires a patient to need 24 hr a day nursing care and to be seen by a physician on a daily vs. a monthly basis which occurs in other settings.

Our nursing staff to patient ratio is 6:1
We specialize in Physical therapy, Occupational therapy, speech Therapy and offer recreational therapy.
We have a registered dietician on staff and a culinary trained chef.
We offer spacious private rooms and state of the art rehabilitation equipment.

The Medical Staff is comprised of physicians of diverse specialties with two specialists in Physician Medicine and Rehabilitation.
We have a very low infection rate
And 70% of our patients are discharged home
