About Video Assist Android App

Video Assist provides realtime production tools for android. The app supports front and back camera, internal or external microphones, 2 media players or live sources, character generator for pdf, jpg, png and custom templates, text to speech generator, video and audio mixer, video recorder and video streamer.

The app is modelled on a TV News Production workflow where the journalists enter script and production commands into a news room computer system and the automation system executes those commands. All commands for a video production are stored in a show. Each show has a series of items and each item has a series of events.

The app Includes a script editor with a simple production command language. Commands can be executed individually or sequentially using the take button. This combined with trigger times allow for semi automatic control. The app can be used manually without a script, users can select a camera, load a clip or graphic and cut or mix to that source while recording or streaming.

The app includes a graphic template editor. Text fields, camera, clips or pictures can be layed out on the screen and saved in a template file. When later referenced in the script the contents of those fields are substituted from the script. The final output can be recorded to a MP4 file or streamed using RTSP or UDP.
