La Asociación Colombiana de Alergia, Asma e Inmunología (ACAAI) y la Organización Mundial de Alergia (World Allergy Organization -WAO-), tienen el gusto de presentar a la comunidad médica, un evento científico de talla mundial, integrado por el Simposio WAO “Alergia a ácaros: de la ciencia básica a las aplicaciones clínicas” (Mite Allergy: From basic to clinical applications) y el XI Congreso de la Asociación, los cuales tendrán lugar en el Hotel Hilton de la hermosa ciudad de Cartagena, Colombia, entre el 6 y el 9 de septiembre de 2017 y contarán con la participación de destacados conferencistas nacionales e internacionales.

El objetivo principal del evento ha sido el desarrollo de un programa científico de altísima calidad que proporcione a los asistentes un conocimiento vanguardista en unas áreas de la medicina que cada vez cobran más importancia, no solo por la altísima prevalencia de las enfermedades alérgicas e inmunológicas, sino por la estrecha correlación entre las ciencias básicas y clínicas que involucran estas especialidades, concepto fundamental en la formación y la actualización médica actual. El evento contará además con espacios de tiempo generosos para la presentación y discusión de posters y comunicaciones orales, exaltando de esta forma el esfuerzo investigativo de los participantes.The Colombian Association of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) and the World Allergy Organization (World Allergy Organization -WAO-), are pleased to present to the medical community, a world-class scientific event, composed of WAO Symposium " mite allergy: from basic science to clinical applications "(mite allergy: from basic to clinical applications) and the XI Congress of the Association, which will take place at the Hilton Hotel in the beautiful city of Cartagena, Colombia, between the 6 to 9 September 2017 and will include the participation of prominent national and international speakers.

The main objective of the event was the development of a scientific program of the highest quality to provide attendees with a cutting-edge knowledge in some areas of medicine are becoming increasingly important, not only because of the high prevalence of allergic and immunological diseases, but by the close correlation between basic science and clinical specialties involving these fundamental concept in training and current medical update. The event will also feature generous spaces of time for presentation and discussion of posters and oral communications, exalting in this way the research effort of the participants.
