About WiMidi Demo Android App

WiMidi is Wireless Midi THRU made easy and fast : it give you same control as a midi cable, and more without a wire !
Warning : WiMidi is a controller, it doesn't make any sound on its own, be aware you are not downloading a synth or noise making app.
WiMidi can control a lot of sounds modules or apps, even the Virtual midi compatible ones in your android 6+ device.

You don't care anymore about the distance between your midi controller ( on the stage or in the studio) and your precious and sometimes big sound modules : PC with VST effects and instruments, Effect Rack, hardware sound modules...

4 input kinds ( on left screen part ) =
- Wifi network from another WiMidi instance or compatible app *
- USB midi class compliant controller (mixer, pedalboard, keyboard ... )
- Android (6+) midi USB peripheral port (Midi In function from PC or virtual input)
- TouchScreen controls ( only when 1 output is connected)

3 output kinds ( on right screen part ) =
- Wifi network to another WiMidi instance or PC midi-fi server *
- Class compliant USB-Midi out ( same as input one! )
- MIdi out function Android (6+) : midi USB peripheral port (Midi Out function to PC or virtual output)

* WiMidi network Input, you don't need a PC with wifi to control all your sounds wireless : Using 2 WiMidi instances with 2 android devices is a perfect solution = You are free from midi cables and your PC cpu power is not used for wifi (also prevent firewall setup issues)

WiMidi allow playing with very low delay over direct wifi connection : Use tethering portable hotspot, sharing connection mode on widows or android device. Try not connecting with a public or home hotspot, prefer the portable hotspot (connection sharing ) for best performance and near zero latency experience.

Easy Connect ! When using tethering portable hotspot with 2 app instances, WIMidi can find and connect to the other instance server without entering IP manually.

Easy midi CC Learn : Long press the CCxx text next to a knob, slider or XY control, the text turn to green. Now with input connected sending any CC value, will change the CC number of the on screen control, long press it again to store the new value : Now moving the control (knob, slider, xy) will send the new cc to the connected midi out.

WiMidi is a Foreground service, it means that you can connect it and then forget the android device, screen locked in the place you want or even use another front end app while WiMidi works in background.

WiMidi allow additional control with a 4*4 and a 4*8 pads note and 16 scales input and CC input : 2 XY controls, 9 buttons,12 sliders, 8 circle knobs, with predefined Midi-CC sets and each CC group customizable
Choose your layout for on screen controls (long press controls buttons when output connected)
Daw Tab: Predefined CC buttons for transport,clip record and devices control.
XY4 Tab: 8 learnable cc at same time controlled with 4 xy surfaces
2*8 Tab: 2 rows of keyboard notes with additionnal CC buttons

WiMidi is freeing you from midi cables and gives you more control with your midi controllers.
