The World Art Foundations has been created by Helena Stork and Peter Deckers.
Together with her late husband Herman Krikhaar (1930 – 2010) artist and gallery owner, Helena Stork (art historian and writer) created the Herman Krikhaar Foundation, which she now runs, keeping alive its integrity and aims.

In this capacity, in the summer of 2014, she organized together with Peter an exhibition of Adriaan Korteweg’s (1890-1917) work. Korteweg, a friend of Kandinsky, was the only Dutch member of Blaue Reiter. His work was shown simultaneously as part of an exhibition at the Prado, Madrid, ‘El Greco and Modern Art’.
After completing his education at l’Ecole Supérieure des Arts Saint Luc in Brussels, Peter Deckers opened his first gallery in 1982. At the same time he painted and worked with the Palais des Beaux-Arts (Brussels). Afterwards he directed the Espace Medicis (Brussels), showing artists such as Valerio Adami and Richard Hamilton and overseeing the publication of art books and editions (with Jean Tinguely, Pat Andrea, Topor etc).
In the nineties Peter coordinated the multicultural Espace Kiron in Paris and was director of the Kiron Gallery. At the moment he continues to paint (artist name Varozza) and is organizing exhibitions, circulating between Milan, Lugano, Paris and the South of France.

By experience they understand the need for art foundations to resolve questions, such as:
How can we better raise awareness of cultural events?
How can we keep international art audiences aware and informed?
Are there better ways to cooperate with other Foundations to achieve these aims?
The World Art Foundations is designed to address these challenges in liaison with individual International Art Foundations. It offers a platform from which Art Foundations can inform art audiences, as well as work together to develop and promote innovative projects and events.
