What is it : Yacht Connect is a marine weatherproof signal collection and amplification system which receives local area wi-fi transmissions via a high gain antennae and connects them through a proprietary DC powered router and boosting and retransmitting them using custom software which provides access to its users via a proprietary secure and unique password app. When wi-fi signal is poor or unavailable the system automatically switches to 3G/$G with its own embedded SIM card using the same app to provide seamless connectivity to the user with connectivity as far as 20 miles offshore. Up to 32 unique users can connect to one system simultaneously using the unique password. The router can also be connected directly via Ethernet lines to expand access points.
Elements : The system consists of an IP 67 Weatherproof dome measuring 18 inches tall by 10 inches wide mounted on a flat base or via a clamp type antenna. The dome contains two high gain antennae (wi-fi and cellular) coupled via a proprietary 12/24 DC custom router and a user SIM card and controlled by embedded custom software which correlates and responds to the Yacht Connect app. The Dome has a weather proof secure SIM card slot and cap on its bottom surface and an exit for the two power supply wires.
How does it work: The user turns on the system and it transmits a wi-fi signal. The user opens the Yacht Connect app and using their unique password signs on to the Yacht Connect system. Once connected, the user than scans for wi fi signals USING the app. The user then selects the wi-fi signal he wishes to use and the Yacht Connect system will link to that wi fi signal. Since the antenna’s gain is quite high, the signal connection between the wi fi signal and the Yacht Connect will be at full strength thereby providing a connection as strong and fast as the originating wi fi signal for greater connectivity and speed. The Yacht Connect app will also allow for the recognition of the SIM card when inserted in the dome, and by following the simple selection instructions in the app for the Country of use, the carrier and the type of SIM card the user can enable the card in the system. Once enabled, the systems software will also automatically recognize and link to the SIM card in the Yacht Connect system and be shown in the app. The app displays the signal strength and speed of both the wi fi and cellular systems at all times and the user has the option to switch to the cellular system or back to the wi fi at any time.
