This app is a demonstration of a "Monte Carlo algorithm".
A specified amount of "raindrops" is randomly thrown on a quarter-circle inside a square, each drop landing inside is counted. At the end of each iteration, the amount of inside-drops is divided by the amount of all drops (inside and outside). This quotient, multiplied by four, will be nearly equal to PI, if the amount of all raindrops is great enough.
This app graphically shows the thrown raindrops on the quarter circle.
