It was Established in 1992. Bundi district comprises of five Panchayat Samitees namely K. Patan, Nainwa, Talera, Hindoli and Bundi . The most distinguish feature of the region is double line of hills running through the district in the north east and south west direction varying in altitude. Chambal is the perennial river of the region having Mangli, Ghora Pacchar, Mej and Talera river as its distributaries. Bundi is known as Chhoti Kashi because of numerous holy places and famous for its prominent role in evolution of early Rajasthan paintings.

Total geographic area of district is 5550 sq. km. Geographically it is situated between 24.10 to 25.11o N latitude and 75.190 to 76.19o east longitude which falls under humid south eastern plain Zone V with average rainfall 764 mm. Soybean, paddy, maize, sorghum, black gram and green gram are the main Kharif crops whereas wheat, mustard, barley and gram are the major Rabi crops of the district. The soils of the district are clay to clay loam in texture. Among fruit trees guava, lemon, papaya are the major fruit trees which are widely grown in entire district.
